Motorino Williamsburg Closed

The building that Motorino had been occupying on 319 Graham Avenue was jokingly referred to as Williamsburg’s Leaning Tower of Pizza. The wonky engineering resulted in a nightmare for the landlord and tenant. It had been sheathed in scaffolding while undergoing a re-leveling. The repairs for the structural issues were insufficient and now Motorino of Williamsburg has been forced to close their doors by command from the Department of Buildings.

When EaterNY asked chef and owner about the closure he said “the stupidity of our landlord is a force we were not able to overcome.” Rumor has it that they will be re-opening in a new location but the time table for the return is under wraps.

My husband lived in that exact building with the same landlord, also known as Rosa, unfortunately, and for lack of a better description, she was a crazy woman who  NEVER complied with the law, harassed people all the time, it was much to our surprise that Motorino even lasted so long. We often frequented the restaurant and thought it strange that our same old crazy landlord was the restaurant’s same landlord. None of this is a surprise. Somebody should sue her for damages, or prevent her from being a landlord. Sorry to see you go Motorino.

I also used to live in that building and can confirm the psycho landlord claims.  It is a shame, but lesson learned here: do better research with the tenants.
