Greenpoint getting it’s very own version of the Brooklyn Flea?!
The Greenpoint Flea Market & Bazaar opens today (06/11) at the beautiful Greenpoint Reformed Church. The market is held every Friday through the summer from noon to 8pm. They have a variety of vendors already signed up offering everything from handmade goods to tasty local treats. The Flea will be held both indoors and outdoors, so rain or shine they’re able to keep it going.
Among the vendors listed so far we see 25th St. Finds, 3Free Designs, Jelly Roll Vintage, Record Reeper, Ottessa, G Star Leather Works, Brooklyn Botanics, Cass on Blast, NENENN, and Ghetto Gourmet. We’re crossing our fingers for Red Hook Lobster Pound (or maybe the elusive Dr. Claw) and People’s Pops to hit this location. For more info or to become a vendor contact greenpointflea [at] gmail [dot] com.
Update 6/11 4pm:
Dropped by the location, spoke to the organizer, and looked around the property. Today was a soft launch of sorts for the Greenpoint Flea with a handful of vendors not making it due to some false starts two months ago. Next week the entire vendor space is apparently booked. When you go, you’ll see some clothing vendors on the front lawn, if you look to the right you’ll see a little walkway which leads to the back with the food vendors, and if you walk straight ahead there’s two floors of space available for yet more vendors. This space has a ton of potential if the right vendors book it. Mike (the organizer) is a nice guy, drop a line, talk to him, the spots are going for around $70 each.
Location:
138 Milton Street Between Franklin and Manhattan Ave, one block from the Greenpoint Avenue G train.
We were tipped off about this from Miss Heather at New York Shitty.
