Meatpacking or Williamsburg?
A condo. A hotel. I’m at the combination condo and hotel.
The Hotel Williamsburg at McCarren Park and The Residences at The Williamsburg are opening in the neighborhood soon. The two buildings at 135 North 11th Street and 162 North 12th Street are nearing completion and will contain 57 condos and 64 hotel rooms.
Curbed labeled this “where the ‘Burg meets the Meatpacking District.” Unfortunately it appears to ring true. The marketing for The Residences reads along the lines of “Dear beloved douche bag. You love private jets, leather bound books, and your Amex black card, so you’ll love this place.” With a rooftop bar, ground floor pool and mile long amenity list, this unfortunately sounds like the making of a Gansevoort Hotel/Soho House on McCarren Park.
